Living plastic free is incredibly difficult. I will give you a moment to think about it. And then another moment to think even harder. Its everywhere. In everything. Bags, wraps, packaging, toys, cell phones, even the computer I am typing on. Plastic is everywhere. The reason I gave another moment to think about the plastic in your life is because we are so used to plastic that if you are anything like me you don't even realize what is plastic. I mean, you know what is plastic, but we are so used to seeing it everyday, that it is so easy to overlook. Recycling plastic is easy - water bottles, food containers, etc. But all the other plastic, the everyday, non-throw away plastic, that's the stuff that we don't think about.
So I will start over - living plastic free is incredibly difficult. And now you understand why. So often enough there is a blog or an article about someone, somewhere choosing to live plastic free. At Conservingnow.com we salute these people because we know how difficult that choice is. We all do our best to consume the most minimal amount of plastic - but even so, its still a lot. That's just a fact in our modern society.
So take a moment and read about these "plastic-free people". You will be glad you did. They will help you learn about the plastic in your own life and then give you incredibly clever suggestions for plastic free alternatives, or for doing without altogether. Its worth a read.
